John has hosted a number of major food industry events in Italy.

In 2010 he was a judge in the Pesto World Championships in Genoa.

In 2017 and 2018 John hosted the Barilla Pasta World Championships, held over three days in Milan and Parma, and was shortlisted for the Italian Best Event Award in 2018.

In 2021 he hosted the San Pellegrino Young Chef Academy, which won its category in the Italian Best Event Awards for that year.
